My Baby Blue

My Baby Blue by DMB

Confess your kiss still knocks me off my legs
First time I saw you
Was like a punch right through my chest

I will forever because you'll forever be
My one true broken heart pieces inside of me
And you forever my baby.

You will rest your head
Your strength wants saving
And when you wake
You will fly away
Holding tight to the legs
Of all your angels
Goodbye my love
Into your blue blue eyes
Your blue blue world
You're my baby blue.

Confess not quite
Ready to be left
Still I know
I Did my level best
You give you give
To this I can attest
You made me
You made me
You and me forever baby

You will rest your head
Your strength wants saving
And when you wake
You will fly away
Holding tight to the legs
Of all your angels

Goodbye my love
Into your blue blue eyes
In your blue blue world

You
And
Me
Forever

This is a new song on DmB's new album "Big Whiskey". I got the cd before I went up to St. Louis this past weekend for a concert called "Farm Aid"....It was a fun...lots of fun. I was with a fine gentleman, Tony Primeau.. Farm Aid is a benefit concert for Family Farmers and an effort to stop Factory Farms which by now have totally dismantled a large percentage of the family farming. Its a sad deal. Both of your Grandparents on my side were once farmers..their dad's, my grandpa's, were farmer's their whole life and their wives were until their husbands died. They were family farmers. Their whole family worked on it. I still to this very day wish I was a farmer. I try and look back and picture myself as if I were one of my Grandpa's and imagine what it would feel like on an open field plowing the ground for corn or beans, and feeding my cows or pigs..gathering eggs for breakfast and taking my grandson to the sale barn to buy or sell a cow as they often did with me.
That song, I really caught it the way way home and played it a few times over...I heard Dave and Tim play this one at the Farm Aid concert....it was really wonderful...While I was listening it reminded me of you and I. I have always called you my baby blue with your piercing blue eyes...right now you claim it as your favorite color. The songs makes me think about the days ahead where you will be becoming more independent and as the song goes I hope you hold on tight to all your angel's legs. For me I have been very blessed through my years with the angels who have held me when need be. Brock you will always be my baby to me. I will always remember all these wonderful times we have shared so far and so look forward to the years ahead. I have really high expectations for you. None that expect you to be some rich person or not necessarily a pro ball player, sure every father wants that for their son but I want you to be a kind and giving and understanding man that is a leader and a person people will look up to. Those are very good attributes that I pray I will help you achieve and see you grow into. Right now you have all these brewing inside you and touches my heart when I hear and see you do certain things.

This song when I hear it will be yours forever to me.
